Another blog post I found from years ago..previously written 1/25/07

Ok, so…i was reading a friend’s blog today…shes an incredible writer, (I’ve probably told her that once or twice) and its not so much what she writes, but the way and how she writes it. Its the rhythm, the structure and the melodic details falling where they may. Whatever it is, its not what is said, but the way its said.

Out of all the things I claim to be, a writer isn’t one of them. But when I find myself writing I want to do it well. Its this humanistic, selfish desire to be very good at something, even when if its not something you do often, much less spend very much time on. I wish I could write in such a way that it inspires people…and urges them to better themselves, perhaps even to greatness. Artistically, designing I live in those same goals…to inspire. When I do write, though sparingly…I want it to mean something…something beyond the reckless bablings of a 21-year old college senior. I’m far more than that; I want my writing to reflect as much.

Writings, words, and the way they are all said have always meant something to me. If I can write produce a writing to go along with a piece of art I’ve done, my satisfaction is two-fold. The piece means significantly more because I can express verbally in the same way I have visually.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…I truly admire writers because if their ability to paint pictures, create visualizations and craft dreams.

So again, here’s to the people that inspire me to be more, even if its in the lesser concentrations of my life….

Marc goes into how it is so hard for him to write a poem about his wife, Angel despite the many things that he could write, say, etc. Nothing seemed it fit, no two words would rhyme. I can relate to this and if you’re a writer than perhaps you can to.

It seems that the things closest to us, but not us, are the hardest to write about.

Things I want to improve on – life edition

Seriously, Punkin Chunkin’ photos are in fact coming, but they’re not available to me at this moment and so I’m writing this instead….

Things I want to improve on, become more active in, changes I plan to make, foresee and continue on…

The path back - I have some people still left to speak with and with Monday off, I need to arrange talks with them then.
My sister – I’ve done very little in terms of getting back in touch with her and trying to rebuild our relationship since the falling out…I need to get more active in making that a priority
ContributeDesign – I haven’t touched a non-profit client for quite some time; there’s a call I need to make to one of them and begin work there
Reading books - Seriously, I have a ton of books I need to read.
Prayer time/quiet time – I try to read my Bible everyday, but that doesn’t always work out, prayer the same. I need to just get better at both
Communication with friends - There are people, as of late, that I have let fall a bit by the way side. I need to reconnect with some friends, people I used to speak to often. I’ve let myself become absent lately and I’m not a fan of it.
Art/Writing/Side Projects - I haven’t worked on art in sometime and there are a few pieces I’d really love to tackle. Writing wise, there are a few drafts that need my attention to finish. I need to finish things I start through. Side projects…its been awhile since i’ve done anything flash related, I need to make something cool and I have a few ideas how to express that.

This is all for now, its part of the constant thinking, always seeking…its all about what I want to become, what I should become and the journey there.
