What I’ve learned this week at the new job

It’s been a fun first week here at Johnson&Johnson/Lifescan…here’s what I learned… Getting up at 5:45 every morning for work at 7:45 isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. – I’ve always been a morning person but not this early. I thought it would be a huge adjustment and it has to an [...]

So long News Journal

Today’s mood and feelings are bittersweet, leaving a company and friends I’ve known for 3 years. I’m looking forward to the new challenges ahead but I’m soaking in every last minute at this office, at my desk and with these great people. This move is for the best, no question, but it doesn’t make saying [...]

Freelance project: MeetJohnVon now live

This was a rush order completed in a few hours from start to finish, consisting of lighbox, basic mp3 flash script built around a stackable navigation. There are other freelance projects on my plate that are ongoing, most prominently Tribeca Design Studio but this one had to be done quickly for John’s potential clients.

Complacent doing

We go through life everyday with things that we have to do, get done, work on. Sometimes these things are small bits like cleaning, doing laundry or putting away items. Sometimes these things are more significant like calling a friend, helping a neighbor or just listening to someone. Then there are things that you probably [...]

Third time’s the charm

Here we go again…another long day-long funeral somber melody of friends leaving us…not by choice but by necessity; to keep a large media company afloat. We can understand the the reasoning but have difficulty facing the reality that will soon face them in unemployment. Pray for them, pray for their families, pray they get back [...]

MDDC Awards

DelawareOnline did very well in the 2008 MDDC (Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association) Awards for Online Media & Advertising, especially considering who we were up against in the Division A category (like the Washington Post).  We did well last year, and it was only fitting that we showed the rest of the MDDC area what [...]
