Friends and I at the Maine Brewfest
Cranny, Nick, Travis and I spent a weekend in Maine visiting with Travis’s brother and girlfriend, family and some of his friends. We went to the Maine Brewfest and got to see some of the sights. It was a great trip.
Things learned in Portland Maine about Portland & Maine:
- Maine beer is very sweet
- Microbreweries are everywhere
- Someone you know there knows either a seaman or a lumberjack
- Beards, beards beards…for men and some women
- By 4:30 it’s pitch black
- The sign to the Portland Airport leads you to believe its just a small business park
- Beer can be served with almost every meal and if not there’s an excuse or 2 why there should be
- The Maine “eh” and the Canadian “eh” are not the same
- Really friendly people in Maine
- You can buy beer in grocery stores AND convenience stores
- Maine beer is a little strong and hardly no one drinks it lite
- The coast of Maine is beautiful, no matter where you see it
- My favorite beer of the night/weekend Allagash’s White Belgium beer
- Bonus: According to Travis half the bars in Portland remind him of places in Trolley
