MDDC Awards

DelawareOnline did very well in the 2008 MDDC (Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association) Awards for Online Media & Advertising, especially considering who we were up against in the Division A category (like the Washington Post).  We did well last year, and it was only fitting that we showed the rest of the MDDC area what [...]

One day closer to death

Today’s Thursday, which is followed by Friday…followed by Saturday, followed by Sunday…and then Monday again. We live in this dreaded society of next-days.
People get so focused on what tomorrow brings that they hardly see what beauty and elegance are found in today.
Just today.
Live today, tomorrow’s always a day a way and future “you”…can care about [...]

Welcome to Monday

Time to start the week, dreary Monday and all.
It should be fun, a lot to do, kickball practice this week, wiffleball playoffs on Saturday, portfolio work and more…a busy week again but I made some awesome lasagna to last me through the week so I should be just fine.
One month until I’ll be in [...]

Realizing

Realizing I’m not perfect, keeps me humble.
Realizing I have flaws, helps me understand people and theirs.
Realizing my emotional and mental limits, forces me to try harder.
Realizing I’m a selfish person, makes me want to be more self-sacrificing.
Realizing I’m not at the pinnacle, leaves me striving for the top.
Realizing who I am, is better defined by [...]

Spring Training Game: Red Sox vs Tigers March 23rd

Florida photos coming…seriously

I have to take the time and process the 640 pictures I took while down in Florida..and after discarding, editing, sorting and meticulously grinding through all of them…I’ll put some up for all to see and my Flickr account to get hits.
Someday….
Oh and I still have last year’s Phillies pics to put up…those also coming [...]

Yeahhhh

Ok, so opening day was a bit of a let down…there’s still 161 more games for the Yankees not to suck.

Beer and Boli

Tonight is a rare night for me…its a Friday and I’ll be staying in.
Every now and then, I need this. A Friday where nothing comes up, social interaction is null and I can just…take some “me time” to relax away from everything.  I realize this is a complete luxury; a lot of my friends with [...]

Back from Florida

Florida was great.
I spent 9 days getting some sun, going to the Everglades, swimming in the pool, seeing the Gulf Coast, playing tennis, relaxing, playing cards, watching March Madness, taking pictures, watching a spring training game, driving a golf cart…and more. It was a nice getaway.
What I didn’t do was: check my email, go [...]

Independent Newspapers shrinks to tabloid sizes papers

A buddy of mine from my former place of employment, Independent Newspapers, just informed me that they’re shrinking down the publication size from the normal newspaper size down to tabloid: 9.75×11.25.
I suppose its better than shutting down entirely.
A lot of newspapers are starting to go web-only, but looking at the website…its clearly not an option [...]
