I am, incredibly and curiously fascinated by people.
People in general, of all kinds. I want to know what makes them tick, what makes them who they are today, what experiences all the way have shaped this unique personality.
Why they chose the profession they did, what certain things they like and don’t, why they like certain things.
Its stated in my profile, that I like reading “about” pages. Whenever I go to an artist’s website or portfolio I always look for a picture, the man or woman behind the curtain. I always look to see just how much of themselves they’ll open to the world wide web.
What candid remarks and what bits of random life they’ll share. If they have a blog, I’ll read it to see what else there is.
So why the big interest?
Another fascination of mine, human behavior.
Actions, reactions, buttons, triggers why people do what they do. Its why I studied marketing and consumer thought processes in college; its why psychology has always been something I’ve studied in my free time.
On one hand I want to know what makes you who you are today, on the other hand I want to know why you do whatever it is you do.
Its like knowing your past while learning to predict your behavioral future.
So what about me?
What makes me who I am today, what about my past predicates my future?
Good question, for starters I had a great upbringing in a very religious home, that explains my faith.
My father is a very extroverted person and my mom just the same, that explains my outgoing personality.
I love people but I really value my alone time, so I’d play with the other kids growing up but eventually I’d go home and play legos until I’ve built my next big thing.
When I was younger I didn’t know what vocation to attach myself to and so I went with Radio/TV in high school because that was the easiest. But, it was too easy and so I decided to teach myself web design. The rest is history, now I’m a freelancer and full time e-commerce web developer.
There’s a lot more and it goes a lot deeper than that, but those are the 3 most basic of elements that make people: faith base, personality base, professional path.
