Last Friday, me, Nat and Major went to the Jack’s Mannequin, Paramore concert at Festival Pier in Penn’s Landing.
Here’s how it went down:
- Paper Route was great; I think I’ve now become a fan.
- Phantom Planet was fine musically, but great when it came to interacting with the crowd.
They brought on Paper Route for a song and it was insane. - After a long way and the arrival of a baby grand piano, Jack’s Mannequin started their set and the crowd went nuts.
- They played a new song of their soon-to-be-released album, the Resolution…beautiful song.
- After what seemed like forever waiting for them to set up the stage, Paramore played as fireworks burst behind us over the Ben Franklin Bridge.
- They played all of the favorites: Brighter, CrushCrushCrush, Broken, Misery Business, etc It was something else, one moment we were jumping up and down rocking to the song, the next they were putting us to sleep with a slow jam.
- It was a pretty sweet night, despite parking miles and miles from the venue, the expensive beer, the high school kids, and cheese wiz cheeseburgers.
