Let It Snow Let It Snow Let It Snow!
I don’t know what it is about this fluffy white stuff that gets me all excited. Maybe it’s the fact that I love snowball fights and building snowmen. Maybe I love the scenery it produces or maybe I just grew up in Delaware so this magical mix is still new to me.
Whatever the case, regardless of whether we get 12 or 30 inches let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

My next photo set…
I think my next photo set will be of things shot in my place.
I have some cool things, a drum, some robots and other associated items for the curious. With my new camera I think I can challenge myself to make them pop.
We’ll see..either way, it looks like a good Saturday/Sunday project while I’m taking a quick break from freelance work.
I could be better…
Another blog post I found from years ago..previously written 1/25/07
Ok, so…i was reading a friend’s blog today…shes an incredible writer, (I’ve probably told her that once or twice) and its not so much what she writes, but the way and how she writes it. Its the rhythm, the structure and the melodic details falling where they may. Whatever it is, its not what is said, but the way its said.
Out of all the things I claim to be, a writer isn’t one of them. But when I find myself writing I want to do it well. Its this humanistic, selfish desire to be very good at something, even when if its not something you do often, much less spend very much time on. I wish I could write in such a way that it inspires people…and urges them to better themselves, perhaps even to greatness. Artistically, designing I live in those same goals…to inspire. When I do write, though sparingly…I want it to mean something…something beyond the reckless bablings of a 21-year old college senior. I’m far more than that; I want my writing to reflect as much.
Writings, words, and the way they are all said have always meant something to me. If I can write produce a writing to go along with a piece of art I’ve done, my satisfaction is two-fold. The piece means significantly more because I can express verbally in the same way I have visually.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…I truly admire writers because if their ability to paint pictures, create visualizations and craft dreams.
So again, here’s to the people that inspire me to be more, even if its in the lesser concentrations of my life….
First Impressions
Previously written 1/24/06…but in going through an old blog I found it still applies…
There is a reason why first impressions, good or bad, last a lifetime…regardless of what was said, how or who said it…it in its essence is perfect. You can’t redo a first impression. You can’t call a mulligan or try it over again. Its in stone, frozen frame in time.
First impressions are unique in that the feelings you experience during the first impression are completely genuine unhindered by previous knowledge or pre-conceptions. You didnt know you should feel any different.
Your reactions to what is said, how it is said and the gestures that follow are completely and utterly true. There is no time to hide them; no time to put on a mask. You have no idea how the other person will react to what you say or do…so why be anything but you? Come original, come real…you should have nothing to hide. Regardless of what is said, it is perfect…and will last a lifetime. Acting any different in the future won’t matter, they’ll always go back to how they first knew you…
So congrats, cheers…you left your mask at home…

Bringing back the crew for another…DSL dodgeball Season II tonight
Lace up your sneakers, loosen your arm and get ready to get loud. DSL Dodgeball Season II starts tonight!
It’s the dawn of another great season with the Sofa Kings, regardless of the win/loss record. We’re here to have a good time, make some new friends and throw some balls.
It doesn’t get any better than that. I’m surrounded by the best friends I could ever imagine with the added bonus of playing dodgeball with them. Hopefully this year we’ll get further in the playoffs like we did in the 2nd season last year!
Nonetheless, here’s to the start of another great season to come!
Anyone can be ordinary
Anyone can be average, mediocre, mundane or ordinary.
Anyone.
Anyone can walk, talk and act like the rest of us, be that “average Joe”.

Anyone can talk about the weather, their work and their family.
Anyone.
Everyone can normal…but who cares?
When you walk, talk and act like everyone else in almost every way, who honestly cares?
What makes YOU special? Why should I, as someone you just met, get to know you?
What makes you different from the next person?
What are your passions?
What are your hopes, dreams, goals?
What makes you extraordinary?
Why do you wake up and start the day? What are you working towards?
Any crazy conspiracy theories or childlike phobias?
What is the most altruistic act you’ve done for your fellow man?
What is the most unique thing you’ve created, performed or been a part of?
What crazy thing have you done before that you’d do again?
I don’t care about what television you dive into, what you think of pop music or the new George Clooney movie. We’ll save those topics for when we completely run out of things to say.
Please for originality’s sake be unique.
Be distinctive, act special because you are special.
Don’t settle for being ordinary or trying to fit in, just showcase you.
Anyone can be ordinary…dare to be different, challenge yourself to be extraordinary.
